Aftercare is part of the proposed treatment, not an afterthought. The instructions differ greatly between an injectable, an ablative laser and a facial. Ask for the plan attached to the exact product or device and the contact route for an unexpected reaction.
What to compare
Request written instructions for the treatment area, what appearance to expect, activities or skin products to discuss, and the time of reassessment. Ask who answers questions outside ordinary office hours and which symptoms require prompt medical attention. The FDA describes urgent signs after filler injection; do not substitute a general review-site summary for those instructions.
Trade-offs
A lower price that excludes follow-up may not be the less costly complete plan. Compare the full course and any additional check-ins. If two procedures are combined, ask how the instructions interact and which clinician owns the follow-up.
Using reviews
Reviews may help reveal whether a patient felt supported afterward, but they rarely include the full clinical instruction sheet. Ask the provider directly.
Questions to bring
- When is the first check-in?
- Who handles an unexpected symptom?
- What written instructions come with this exact plan?
