A quoted price has little meaning until the treatment, provider, area and planned number of visits are specified. Cosmetic services may be sold per product, per area, per session or as a course. Two offers with the same headline price can represent different care.
What to compare
Ask each office for a written description of what is included: consultation, exact product or device, areas, number of sessions, anesthetic or add-ons, follow-up and any charge for an adjustment. Ask when payment is due and what happens if a clinician decides the planned procedure is unsuitable.
Trade-offs
Do not infer a local market price from an old online review. Treatment prices can change and an individual plan may differ from a promotional package. The provider should be able to explain the total out-of-pocket amount and how alternatives would change it.
Using reviews
A reviewer’s bill may omit discounts, product amounts, add-ons or later visits. Use a price anecdote to ask for details rather than treat it as a current quote.
Questions to bring
- What exactly is included and excluded?
- How many visits are being priced?
- What costs arise if the plan changes?
